Christina Omideyi - Chair

Christina chairs the Board of Trustees, a busy role that she balances with her full-time career. A Barrister by profession, she was called to the Bar of England and Wales by Lincoln’s Inn in 1987 and practiced Civil Law for several years. She now specialises in the area of Family Law. Christina loves to get stuck in and get her hands dirty. She can often be found helping out in the Canaan Kitchen or joining in with the singing.

Tom Burke – Canaan Kitchen

Tom joined us in 2010 as a volunteer in the Canaan Kitchen and was invited to join the Board of Trustees in 2017. He is a much loved and valued member of the team known for his excellent coffee-making skills and down to earth nature. Tom’s sense of service, compassion and dedication to helping others is unrivalled and inspiring. As a member of Alcoholics Anonymous Great Britain for over 20 years, he now serves as Board Trustee and London Conference Delegate.

Leigh Rhianon Coggins – Youth Choir Director

Leigh has the magic when it comes to teaching and bringing out the best in young people. She is a professional vocal tutor and has performed in a number of theatre productions including Les Miserable and Phantom of the Opera in London’s West End.

Joana Gil – Community Choir Director, Music Wellness Facilitator

Joana directs our Community Choir and is a professional vocal teacher, choral conductor and graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Joana is warm and genuine and has a unique ability to make people feel comfortable and discover their unique sound. Originally from Portugal, she has performed on various stages in the UK and overseas.

Nii Okine – Music Tutor & Dance Instructor

Nii is bursting with energy and combines his passion for dance, world music and sport with a hearty, exuberant personality and fun teaching style. Nii’s background as a primary school music teacher and trained musician lends itself well to ensuring sessions are fun, informative and engaging for all the family.

Hyme – Accounts and Activities Coordinator

Hyme joined the team in 2018 and has made an immediate impact. His active engagement within Tottenham’s large Latin American community has enabled us to build effective relationships with families for whom English is not their first language. Hyme balances his full-time postgraduate studies and his lovely young family.

Funmi Paul-Taiwo – Family, Parenting & Women’s Events Coordinator

A firm believe in the adage, it takes a village to raise a child, and the popular phrase it’s good to talk, Funmi is passionate about parenting and sharing experiences to encourage, empower and motivate. Mum to 2 lovely boys and juggling a demanding media career, she also loves to sing and is a real foodie.
